[edit] History

The Elysian Drop Troops was originally a branch of the Warhammer 40,000 gaming community, Vigilia Mortis, to also accomodate Planetside 2 players unwilling to join a Warhammer 40,000 multigaming community.

EDT soon overtook VM in size and only few members from Vigilia Mortis were remaining, loosening ties with Vigilia Mortis.

It didn't take long for the outfit leader, Valrak, to leave the outfit and prioritise Vigilia Mortis.

One month after Valrak left, a new outfit leader was elected out of the two highest ranking remaining officers, Gfourtwolon (Aka Ganelon), and EDT kickstarted back in action by heavily recruiting members and becoming one of the core outfits on Woodman TR.

In early 2014, GavriloT was elected the new leader of the EDT, with Ganelon taking over the duties of the second-in-command. Shortly thereafter, the 501st Sky Guardians (501G) outfit merged with EDT, bringing a new wave of experienced players to their ranks. The EDT are currently training in 24 v 24 scenarios with the hope of participating in future tournaments such as the Community Clash.

[edit] Playstyle

EDT is an infantry-centered outfit with some pilots to provide support to the ground troops. Preferred method of action is to take Galaxies for transport to bring the ground troops to their destination, and leave two bulldog gunners in the Galaxies to provide close air support.

[edit] Recruitment

We actively promote our outfit on the official forums, the WoodmanPS2 subreddit, and in-game through recruitment platoons (tagged with EDT).

Applying is done here by filling in the application. Requirements are:
