The [GETF] - German Terraforce is a mostly German outfit on Cobalt. Fluctuating between 300 and 400 members they have strength in numbers. Inactive members are removed from the outfit on a regular basis, thus the fluctuation. The outfit has a large amount of very active gamers making the [GETF] platoon a common sight on Auraxis throughout the CET (Central European Time) day.
[edit] Recruitment
They are among the biggest and most active outfits on Cobalt and encourage any player to join their ranks to keep the momentum. This means that the [GETF] is home to players of all skill levels, battle ranks and most demographic groups. Recruitment is not tied to any knowledge of German.
[edit] Communication
[GETF] utilizes Steam and Facebook groups as well as a dedicated Teamspeak3 server for communication. Primary language on these channels is German and native German speakers are required to join Teamspeak while playing. Platoon leaders will use the Plansetside 2 voice chat to exchange information and give orders in both German and English.
[edit] Controversy
As the [GETF] prefers a casual and relaxed style of playing outside of alerts and encourages even inexperienced [GETF] members to engage in squad and platoon leadership some of the more serious players tend to think of them as an ineffective zerg with common clan tag.
Despite the prejudice past alerts and events have shown that this is not necessarily the case. When one of several experienced platoon leaders is steering the forces of the German Terraforce, they make for a splendid strike force among the Terran Republic's soldiers. And due to their numbers they are an invaluable TR asset for winning alerts on any continent.
