Planetside 2 allows players to customize their Class and Vehicle with a wide range of options within several categories. Many of these options are made available by a unlocking a Certification.
[edit] Class
Players can customize the Infantry classes with options in the following categories: Primary Weapon, Secondary Weapon, Tool, Melee, Ability, Suit, Grenade, and Utility. Players also have four Appearance slots to customize the class visually, which include: Helmet, Armor,Camo and Decal. Some classes lack certain customization categories, such as the Light Assault which does not have any Tool options, or the MAX which does not have a Secondary Weapon but instead has two Primary Weapon options.
Additionally, a Class can have its Primary Weapon and Secondary Weapon further customized with options in the following categories: Optics, Barrel Attachment, Rail Attachment, Ammo,and Camo. Note that certain Secondary Weapons do not have any Optic options.
[edit] Vehicle
Players can customize the various Vehicles with options in the following categories: Primary Weapon, Secondary Weapon, Utility, Defense, and Performance. A Vehicle also has four Appearance slots to customize the vehicle visually, which include: Hood Ornament, Camo, Decal and Misc. Similar to classes, some Vehicles lack certain customization categories, such as the Flash and Lightning lacking a Secondary Weapon option.
