The Comet VM2 is the standard-issue anti-vehicle MAX weaponry. The explosive plasma orbs it fires are capable of melting through heavy tank armor.

Field usage

Thanks to plasma technology, there is no ballistic, making the Comet an extremely accurate weapon. Beware of using the Comet when firing another MAX weapon at the same time : the overall recoil will decrease the accuracy. The range of the plasma orb is about 200 meter before evaporating, do not engage vehicles or turrets at very long range, it will never be reach.

The travel speed of the plasma orb is slow, even slower than a rocket. Some training is required to hit mobile targets.


At close range, the Comet helps eliminating MAX units or infantry. The splash damage is quite limited, so a direct hit is recommended for best result. A constant random firing at enemy cluster will always land a hit. Altough not deadly, enemy trying to dodge the plasma orb may be forced to uncover themselves.


The dead-eye aiming feature makes it very efficient on immobile targets ; once aimed at, a continuous firing of the Comet keeps sending plasma orb right at the target. Against armored vehicle, the rate of fire being higher than a standalone AV launcher usually force enemy tanks to retreat for some repair after 10 hits.

The slow travel speed of plasma orb makes it almost useless against aircrafts.
